For Republicans’ consideration while they’re making a plan for a plan to replace Obamacare

Here’s what House Republicans are up against in their planning to make a plan to replace Obamacare in the event they ever gain enough power to repeal it: Keeping all these people insured.

Bar chart showing percentage of all persons w/out health insurance coverage, 1997-2015

That’s part of an early release of data from the Centers for Disease Control National Health Survey.

For January-September 2015, the percentage uninsured at the time of interview was 9.1% (95%confidence interval = 8.71%–9.54%), which was lower than the 2014 estimate of 11.5%.

The percentage uninsured at the time of interview decreased from 16.0% in 2010 to 9.1% in January– September 2015.

It’s awfully hard to look at that nearly 20 years of data and argue that Obamacare didn’t work.
